Small Timecellar Logo   Document Management - One Document's Information

Parts 5, 6 and 7 show information about a specific document.

Document information in parts 5 to 7 of the doc mgmt screen of TimeCellar

Part 5 - SEQUENCE. Item 5 appears to be a sequence number or row number. This number is also a link as well. Click the number to edit the name of the document, the description of the document, the reminder date for the document. If the document is a text document then you can also nark the document to serve as the TOC (table of contents) for the current tab.

Part 6 - DOWNLOADING. Item 6 shows the name of the document as it was when uploaded. An icon is also displayed to help indicate the type of document. Click the name to actually see the document - if it is one that your browser knows how to interpret. Clicking Another_Brick_in_the_Wall.jpg in this example would show the full size picture of the Wall of China in a new window. If the document is not known to (viewable in) the browser, it will likely download to your computer. You can always download the document instead of viewing it by right-clicking on the name and choosing the download option in the menu that pops up.

Different things may happen if you click on a file name. It partly depends on other applications that might be installed on your device to handle different media types. What happenw next is also dependent on which Browser and Operating System software (Windows, Mac, Chrome, Linux, Phone, iPad, etc.) you are using:

7 - DESCRIPTON. Item 7 contains the description of the document that has been added to identify the item. For graphics files, there will be a thumbnail. And the app adds: the date uploaded, the owners name (in brackets), and the size of the document.

TRACKING. Not all document display pages are exactly like the one above. See picture below. The difference happens whenever the person who created the tab chose to mark all documents under this Tab to require the viewing or downloading to be auditable. This requires the user to take an extra step to view or download the document. Any access beyond what is on the display for anyone to see will be recorded in the application's logs. In the example below, the user can click the select box on the right side of any document row and then click the Enable Download button. Another window opens with the selected entries so that the contents of the documents can be fully accessed.
